I know from personal experience that if you are hosting a party, it’s always a bit of a mission to try and get food on the table, candles lit and take photo’s. I either find I have to thrust a camera into someone’s hand and ask them to take some photo’s, which results in bewildered looks and a lot of trying to find the “on” button, and the “take the photo” button, often getting a couple of shaky snaps, or me taking all the photos, and not actually being in any of them or looking like I had anything to do with my child’s party at all!
So just before Christmas I was asked to photograph a 12 year old’s girls birthday party. This is often a tricky age party wise, because this age group are a bit over Fairy parties or anything to “babyish” yet they really still are children. As well as images of the actual party I thought a Photo Booth set up might be the way to go. I took along my box of props. Silly hats, tutu’s, feather boa’s, and funny glasses. We set up in a separate room, and away we went. The girls fully embraced the whole idea, and got as dressed up as possible, and larked about in front of the camera. As is usually the case they were a wee bit shy for the first 30 seconds, but soon warmed up, and ended up having a blast. This is just a tiny example. As I don't have model releases for all the girls at the party I am only able to show you a tiny example, but I hope you get the idea. If you are interested in this for your next party, feel free to contact me. There is on a contact form on my website. Or you can phone or email me. ~Liz~ |
