I love photographing families, and I've had the pleasure of photographing this lovely family in the past, before their little daughter Abbie came along. And also a maternity session just before she was born. It was so fantastic to photograph them all together in this studio setting in my home, for this family photo shoot. Lots of love and laughter during this session, and wee Cullen even made some gluten free cupcakes for me! (with a tiny bit of help from his Mum). Ah my heart just melts ...
Deanna approached The Two Robbies Breakfast Show at The Breeze radio station. She wanted to get a big family photo done with her Nana. As the family are from the area, we thought Pukekohe Hill would be a great spot to get the shots. High up and on a bit of a breezy but beautiful day they all gathered. What a neat family and I'm so pleased that I was able to give them images of them all with Nana, who I fell a little bit in love with! Thanks to Robert Scott and Robert Rakete from the show for thinking of me for this special Win a Wish. Its good to be able to give back.
Deanna who started the ball rolling when she got in touch with The Two Robbies
Tailored to your child, these Bespoke sessions are all about the kids. Suited to the teen years but even a bit younger, the kids can bring a mixture of outfits to the session, to give them lots of different looks, and also depending on age can offer age appropriate makeup. The girls love to have a browse through my frou frou props, and are always keen to give the tulle frocks a whirl. It can be a great confidence booster, and the kids tend to love these sessions, because It's all about them!
I shot this lovely family before their new little girl Abbie came along and then did Maternity photo's before she was born. And here they are all together! I love shooting families. Lots of fun on this session which we did in a studio setting in my home.
We had a good time exploring Musick Point, which had a lot of significance to this family's history. I love it when an area is special in a shoot....
When was the last time you had a picture of yourself with your children? Or your parents for that matter? I suddenly came to the realisation that the last time I had a photo with my eldest daughter was about 4 years ago. I haven't even tried to remember how long it was with my other three children. I wanted to enter a mother and daughter competition, and was looking through all my photos, not quite believing I could not find one of us that didn't go back that far. I couldn't even really find one of myself that didn't have me with a camera in front of my face.
I sort of avoid camera's myself. Probably because I must be vain and Im getting older and not liking some of what I see. But the thing is, if I suddenly fell off the earth, my husband and kids, and the rest of my family wouldn't even have a photo of me, or with me. As I have said in my "about me" section of my website, we don't have many photos from my childhood, and I have one photo of my grandmother holding my Mum when she was a toddler. I look at that photo a lot. It makes me sad to think I don't know what my grandparents looked like, and now that my mum has gone too, I wish I had taken more opportunity's to have some pictures with her. I have a few snaps, and I cherish these. I really do.
I'm going to round my children up. Not really an easy task when half of them are grown up, and hard to tie down, but I'm going to do it. What am I waiting for... to lose a little weight? Get younger? Well that's not going to happen! Lets face it we are only ever as young as we are today ... Mothers day is coming up in a few months. Its going to be my Mothers Day present to myself, and although I don't really need reminding, also to reaffirm how important those in my life are to me. -Liz-
Oh my days! I couldn't resist sharing a few more... I think I could well start sprouting feathers.... Baby's just make me feel clucky....!
And little feet and hands. I just could not resist!
I have four of my own children, and know that feeling. You just can't hide that look of being totally in love with your baby.
and its easy to see why....
There really is nothing like a Mothers love.
And what is it about those little toes and fingers. I just love them.
I have found when doing a family shoot, that the kids are quite often reluctant to have their photo's taken at first. I know with my own children, the reluctance to relax in front of the camera, although their reasons are not so much from shyness but more from being sick of me "trying out stuff" on them! This recent family shoot was no exception, and the kids were pretty shy at first, especially the wee one. But that lasted for about .... oh... 3 minutes and then it was all go. Little Miss J, was in fact directing me in the end! These kids were so cute, and half the time I was in stitches and couldn't get a shot for laughing. I think the M family have a supermodel or three on their hands!
I believe in working with you to create images you will love, and cherish, because "It's all about you!"
