It's often not until I see a photo of my own children that I realise how much they have grown up. With my youngest two being 12 and 10, I suddenly realise that those little baby faces are changing, and I can see them on the cusp of maturing and seeing perhaps the adults that they will become. I recently had a session with 4 girls. Two sets of sisters, who are cousins. They live in separate parts of the North Island and being a close family love spending time with each other. I could tell they were a little nervous about getting their "photos done", but after they realised I am in fact rather goofy and not that scary, they soon warmed up and had a ball. The girls ages ranged from 11 to 16, and brought home once again how quickly our children change.
